Making of our social media - part 3

The next part of our social media, we wanted to try and connect with the audience slightly more as that was something that the artists that we reviewed in our social media research project did very well. Another reason we want to try and connect with our audience is also just to try and build up a star image through this.

The first way that I went about this was in the next tweet that I did. The next tweet I did was probably the first personal tweet of the band just being themselves on social media, trying to connect with the audience.

The next post that I did was one declaring to the audience that there was going to be a live online show for them all to watch. In this I included the fee, the time and where to find it. Although this doesn't seem like a personal or connecting post, it does actually allow the band to connect with the audience more as with an online concert, there isn't that much of a limit of how many people can watch, and the more people who watch, the more people who will retweet the band and so on.

Finally, the next post that I did was a thank you post to everyone who had caught the online show. This again is a personal and connecting tweet as it shows that the band really cares about the audience and the fact that people took time and watched them. This really makes the band seem more down to earth and it was very common in the social media research tasks that we did.

This was the next 3 posts that I did for my social media, and this is what I have got up to so far. I think that although these tweets weren't huge, I don't think that the size of them is what matters. I think it is more about what each tweet is representing and also about the consistency of our band on the social media. If we have a consistent presence on twitter, it makes the fans more likely to follow our social media (and therefore the band) more closely, as they can rely on the band tweeting more often. So far I think we are doing a good job of this, but I think we can do a lot more posts in general and it might also be time to start hinting at stuff relating to the album.
